Heat exchangers are designed to transfer heat between two fluid substances – liquids, vapors, or gases – of different temperatures. So, depending on the heat exchanger used, it’s possible to transfer heat from gas-to-gas, liquid-to-liquid, or liquid-to-gas. The heat exchanger incorporates a solid separator that prevents the fluids from mixing or making contact.
